The “Voices from Tanzania” is a publication series supported by IPIS dedicated to case studies by Tanzanian civil society actors which aim to draw attention to pertinent issues of human rights, corporate accountability and resource governance in Tanzania.
Central in these case studies are experiences of communities affected by business activities, resource extraction and related governance frameworks. Through the “Voices from Tanzania” studies we seek to amplify local civil society and communities’ voices in the broader debates on human rights, resource governance and corporate accountability.
Civil society organisations participating in the “Voices from Tanzania” receive methodological and editorial support from IPIS, from designing their case study, to conducting field-based research and writing up their case study. The “Voices from Tanzania” publications, including the analyses and recommendations presented, are based on the research conducted by Tanzanian civil society actor and solely belong to them.
