Guillaume de Brier is an international development professional with more than 12 years of experience, including five years of field work in the Great Lakes Region. Guillaume joined IPIS in 2015 and specialized on conflict analysis, and natural resources, particularly the artisanal mining sector in Eastern Africa. Before joining IPIS, Guillaume was the Human Rights Programme Officer for UNAIDS, in Rwanda. He previously worked with the Belgian Cooperation (Enabel) in Burundi on the implementation of public health reforms. Guillaume is also the producer of the feature-length documentary “We Will Win Peace,” which analyses mineral regulations and conflict in Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo. Guillaume holds a Masters in Conflict and Development (UGent) and a Bachelor in Contemporary History (ULB).
