Geert Phlix holds a master in social educational sciences and has more than 30 years of experience in the sector of development cooperation. She started her career in the literacy programmes in Mexico and worked for several Belgian NGOs. Since 2000 she works as consultant for ACE Europe, where she is co-director. ACE Europe provides advisory and study services to a variety of actors implementing development cooperation programmes (NGOs, bilateral and multi-lateral agencies, European Union, local authorities, universities). ACE Europe also conducts external programme and policy oriented evaluations. Her thematic domain of expertise relates to strengthening local governance, improving access to and quality of basic services (education, health, water), gender mainstreaming, women-peace-security and decent work. She started her career as scientific researcher at the Catholic University of Leuven.
