
Thomas Muller
Thomas joined the IPIS team in September 2019. As GIS & Data Researcher, he provides a scientific support to projects related to the exploitation of natural resources and conflict mapping. This includes developing research methods to collect and analyse data (geospatial analysis, statistics), conceiving and developing digital tools for data visualisation, making GIS maps, and managing the IPIS database. Thomas holds a PhD degree in Geography (University of Glasgow), having investigated environmental challenges associated with land-use and land-cover changes. His research focused on long-term forest dynamics based on geo-referenced historical maps and botanical surveys. Thomas also holds a Bachelor in Biology and Earth Sciences (University of Lorraine), a Masters in Archaeo-sciences (University of Burgundy), and a Masters in Integrated Development and Land planning (University of Montpellier).
