Last Wednesday, October 26, the Great Lakes region\u2019s heads of state expressed their endorsement of the deal between Congolese government and participating opposition to postpone elections until April 2018. On Saturday, October 29, violence erupted between the police and supporters of the \u201cRassemblement\u201d \u2013 umbrella of opposition parties who boycotted the national dialogue \u2013 in Lubumbashi, <a href=\"#HK\">Haut-Katanga<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In <a href=\"#NK\">North Kivu<\/a>, about a dozen environmental organisations called on MONUSCO, the FARDC and the Institut Congolais pour la Conservation de la Nature to take action against Mai Mai groups that operate on the southern part of the Edward Lake, near Rutshuru and Lubero territories. ADF rebels reportedly attacked several villages in Beni territory over the past week. On Monday, October 31, two people were injured during an incursion in Kibedia village and six others died when the militia attacked Kitevya village. Also on Monday, three Mai Mai militiamen were killed during clashes with the police in Mangina. On October 29, <a href=\"#SK\">South Kivu<\/a> saw confrontations between two Raia Mutomboki factions in Bussolo. In <a href=\"#T\">Tanganyika<\/a>, dozens of inhabitants of Kabalo and Nyunzu territories left the area due to ongoing conflicts between Bantu and Pygmy communities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <a href=\"#CAR\">Central African Republic<\/a> continues to experience increasing tensions and violence between armed groups (e.g. anti-balaka and ex-Seleka), particularly around the city of Bambari, where 25 people were allegedly killed during clashes on Thursday and Friday, October 27 and 28.
