However, few key members of the opposition attended and the \u201cRassemblement\u201d umbrella called for a nationwide \u201cville-morte\u201d. The call was answered in some parts of Kinshasa, but ignored in other big Congolese cities. During the demonstrations in Kinshasa, two people were injured and 32 people were arrested.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In <a href=\"#NK\">North Kivu<\/a>, last week\u2019s massacres in Beni territory continued to spark protest. In the wake of demonstrations following the incident, a curfew and ban on public demonstrations was imposed in Beni and Butembo. In Bwito, confrontations between Nande-Hunde and Hutu communities resulted in four deaths. On Wednesday, August 24, ADF elements reportedly attacked Kithevya and Makulu villages in Beni terrotory, killing two people and injuring seven others. That same day two people were lynched in Butembo, allegedly because they were suspected to create insecurity in the area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Last week, in the night of August 17, <a href=\"#Rwanda\">Rwanda<\/a>n police shot and killed a man suspected of being a terrorist in Kigali. Two days later, another three people were shot in Rusizi district for the same reason. Two of them died and one was critically injured. Meanwhile in <a href=\"#Uganda\">Uganda<\/a>, unknown armed assailants attacked several villages in Bukomansimbi district on Sunday, August 21.
