Kigali has accused the FARDC of being the source of this bombardment and is reported to be discretely assembling troops near the Congolese border at Gisenyi. By contrast, MONUSCO states that the shots originated from M23 held territory. Diplomats leaving a closed session of the UN Security Council are reported to have said that there is\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ipisresearch.com\/briefing.php?id=81#support\">clear and consistent evidence<\/a>\u00a0that the Rwandan army is continuing to support the M23, having infiltrated Congolese territory over the last days, prompting UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon to caution Kigali to exercise restraint.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ipisresearch.com\/briefing.php?id=81#NK\">North Kivu<\/a>\u00a0on Friday, days of heavy fighting in Kibati finally culminated in FARDC\u2019s conquering the M23\u2019s strategic bolt in the Munigi hills from where the group had launched mortars on the city of Goma last week. The rebels have now been pushed back to Kibumba Plain where their forces are said to be concentrated in the area of Mboga, as the FARDC consolidates its positions. Touring\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ipisresearch.com\/briefing.php?id=81#mary\">UN Special Envoy to the Great Lakes Region<\/a>, Mary Robinson, has hailed the victory for having created space for continued political efforts to secure a solution to the insecurity in the DRC. \u00a0As the M23 raised the number of its delegates in Kampala, Uganda has convened a seventh<a href=\"http:\/\/ipisresearch.com\/briefing.php?id=81#summit\">extraordinary session of the heads of state of the ICGLR<\/a>, to run from 5-7 September.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ipisresearch.com\/briefing.php?id=81#K\">Katanga<\/a>, a further 200 Mai-Mai have laid down their arms in Mitwaba, whilst in Equateur 100,000 Congolese refugees, who had fled to neighbouring Congo during conflict in the north west in 2009, have been repatriated. In Province Orientale the<a href=\"http:\/\/ipisresearch.com\/briefing.php?id=81#Ug\">Ugandan army<\/a>\u00a0withdrew from Mahagi on Friday night.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In Bangui,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ipisresearch.com\/briefing.php?id=81#CAR Sec\">Central African Republic<\/a>, the verdict of the first prosecution of Seleka rebels for pillage and other abuses is due to be rendered on 11th September.
