\"\"<\/a>In January 2018, the European Partnership for Responsible Minerals (EPRM<\/a>) granted IPIS funds to implement an independent, transparent and participatory platform for incident reporting and community empowerment in responsible sourcing in the eastern DRC gold sector.<\/p>\n

This platform will have to contribute in improving transparency around follow-up and resolution of incidents in cooperation with relevant stakeholders. The present report outlines progress made over the third phase of this project, from January to July 2019.<\/p>\n

IPIS has engaged in capacity enhancement of 7 mining cooperatives through a series of trainings and follow-up visits led by CEGEMI<\/a> (Centre d\u2019Expertise en Gestion du secteur Minier). Details on the previous phases of the project are available in the first progress report<\/a> and the second progress report<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Next to the capacity enhancement of mining cooperatives, IPIS has designed and developed, with the support of Ulula<\/a>, a new Incident Monitoring Mechanism for Gold Supply Chains in Eastern DRC. This report outlines the progress made in implementing the incident reporting mechanism and shows the first figures on reported incidents and the follow-ups by the local partner Civil Society Organisations.<\/p>\n
