Conference on Business and Human Rights in Tanzania which was held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on the 18<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;of March 2020, at Seascape Hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference was part of the project&nbsp;<strong><em>\u201c<\/em><\/strong><em>I<a href=\"https:\/\/ipisresearch.be\/\/project\/project_business_and_humanrights_tanzania\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mproving, monitoring, research and dialogue on business and human rights in Tanzania\u201d<\/a>,&nbsp;<\/em>which aims at building local and national capacities for improved reporting, fact finding, monitoring and follow-up of corporate activities in Tanzania.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The purpose of the conference was to&nbsp;<strong>raise awareness, build trust and strengthen the national multi-stakeholder network for advancing the agenda on Business and Human Rights in Tanzania.&nbsp;<\/strong>Representatives from Tanzania\u2019s government agencies, civil society and business community took part in the one-day meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The day\u2019s programme included an overview of&nbsp;<strong>key concepts and (inter-)national frameworks<\/strong>&nbsp;on business and human rights, the presentation of&nbsp;<strong>four case studies&nbsp;<\/strong>on pertinent business and human rights issues in Tanzania, published as&nbsp;<em><strong>\u201cVoices from Tanzania\u201d<\/strong><\/em>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ipisresearch.be\/\/publication\/voices-tanzania-case-studies-business-human-rights-vol-2-land-rights-environment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">(volume 2),<\/a>&nbsp;and group discussions on the&nbsp;<strong>current state of protection of human rights<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>in relation to business activities in
