{"id":16759,"date":"2019-04-05T17:04:03","date_gmt":"2019-04-05T15:04:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipisresearch.be\/\/?post_type=publication&#038;p=16759"},"modified":"2020-12-01T10:37:10","modified_gmt":"2020-12-01T09:37:10","slug":"asm-incident-tracker","status":"publish","type":"publication","link":"https:\/\/ipisresearch.be\/nl\/publication\/asm-incident-tracker\/","title":{"rendered":"ASM Incident Tracker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to Kufatilia, the ASM Incident Tracker developed by IPIS in collaboration with the Expertise Centre on Mining Governance (<a href=\"http:\/\/cegemi.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CEGEMI<\/a>) based in Bukavu, and powered by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/ulula.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ulula<\/a>. The ASM Incident Tracker is a tool for Congolese civil society organisations to report and monitor incidents in Eastern DRC in a&nbsp;<strong>transparent, independent and participatory&nbsp;<\/strong>way.<\/p>\n<p>The reported incidents, in line with Annex II of the OECD Guidance on Responsible Minerals Sourcing, include accidents, violence, child labor, environmental degradation, corruption, roadblocks, etc.<\/p>\n<p>This system allows anyone witnessing an incident to alert partner organizations by&nbsp;<strong>sending the word \u201ckufatilia\u201d (which means \u201cto report\u201d in Swahili) to the 08 50 29 12 51 (Orange) \/ 08 24 44 33 91 (Vodacom) \/ 09 74 72 91 00 (Airtel)<\/strong>&nbsp;from a Congolese telephone line. The system automatically creates an incident survey which can be anonymously filled by the informer in Swahili, French or English. 18 civil society organisations which have been working with miners\u2019 communities for many years are involved in this project. These organisations have access to the incidents online database.
