They rejected dialogue with current President Kabila and demanded the organisation of presidential elections before December 19 this year, along with the President\u2019s departure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile in the <a href=\"#DRC\">Democratic Republic of Congo<\/a>, seven people were killed during violent confrontations between the FARDC and alleged ADF rebels near Kokola, <a href=\"#NK\">North Kivu<\/a>. In Walikale territory, the Congolese police strengthened its presence in Ntoto, in order to protect the population from armed groups who occupied the area. Last weekend, the FARDC announced having killed two Mai Mai elements and captured three others in the same territory. The inhabitants of several villages in Walikale and Rutshuru territories left their homes due to the insecure situation. In Irumu territory, <a href=\"#Ituri\">Ituri<\/a>, a group of armed men invaded Apinzi 2, where they looted the population\u2019s cattle. Civil society in Isangi, <a href=\"#Tshopo\">Tshopo<\/a> province, accused Congolese soldiers of putting illegal road blocks in place. In <a href=\"#BU\">Bas-Uele<\/a>, thousands of people reportedly came to the streets in Bili to protest against LRA activities in the area. In <a href=\"#HL\">Haut-Lomami<\/a>, a demonstration of ex-militia members, who protested against being held at a military base in Kamina, turned violent when soldiers opened fire and killed several of them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"#Burundi\">Burundi<\/a> again saw several <a href=\"#killings and attacks\">killings and attacks<\/a> over the past week. In Musaga, Bujumbura, three men were killed on June 9, 12, and 14. In the north of the country, at least two people died and several others were injured when a grenade exploded in Ngozi.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In <a href=\"#Uganda\">Uganda<\/a>, dozens of people were arrested last week over an alleged <a href=\"#coup plot\">conspiracy<\/a> to assassinate President Museveni and organise a coup. In Kasese district, the Ugandan police <a href=\"#security incidents\">killed<\/a> one royal guard and arrested another, after intelligence reports had expressed a suspicion that there would be an attack targeting the police. Three policemen were arrested for shooting and critically injuring four people over a land conflict in Isingiro district last week. On Sunday, June 12, armed men attacked the Gulu Central Police Station, injuring two police officers. One of them died afterwards.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The <a href=\"#CAR\">Central African Republic <\/a>saw an eruption of <a href=\"#Bangui\">violence<\/a> in the capital Bangui during the weekend. On Saturday, June 11, three people were reportedly killed and another one gravely injured during an act of retaliation.
