Congolese soldiers are suspected to have ambushed them. The Ugandan government announced that it would consider using military force if a similar attack were to happen again.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the <a href=\"#DRC\">DRC<\/a>, <a href=\"#political tensions\">political tensions<\/a> are rising between government and opposition over the organisation of the presidential elections, which were planned for later this year. Opposition movements called for protest against the Constitutional Court authorizing current president Joseph Kabila to stay in power if the elections were to be postponed. Demonstrations are set to take place on May 26. Several opposition members and parties reported repression by the authorities. In <a href=\"#NK\">North Kivu<\/a>, Mai Mai Kifuafua rebels were accused of abusing inhabitants of Kiraku in Walikale territory. The insecure situation in Rutshuru and Masisi territories made several humanitarian organisations halt their activities in the area. In Masisi territory, an attack on an FARDC station by alleged Nyatura and FDLR rebels displaced the population of Kibarizo. In <a href=\"#SK\">South Kivu<\/a>, the Congolese army announced having captured two Mai Mai rebels in Kibirizi, Uvira territory. Two days later, Nyatura elements attacked two army positions in Kalehe territory, leaving three people dead. In <a href=\"#Maniema\">Maniema<\/a> province, unidentified armed men killed four people last week in Kaselebela-Kunda. <a href=\"#Ituri\">Ituri<\/a> province saw the inhabitants of Idohu abandon their homes due to armed attacks by unidentified assailants.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Meanwhile in <a href=\"#Burundi\">Burundi<\/a>, armed men in military attire attacked a locality in Mugamba, Bururi province. One person became injured during the assault. In the night between Friday and Saturday, a doctor of the Red Cross was killed near his home in Kamenge, Bujumbura. The same happened on Wednesday in Ngagara to retired colonel Lucien Rufyiri. In Ndava, Mwaro province, unidentified armed men killed one police officer and one civilian on Tuesday. <a href=\"#peace talks\">Peace talks<\/a> between the Burundian government and opposition in Arusha, Tanzania, did not engender much progress over the past week, as \u2013 according to the opposition \u2013 some key members of the CNARED were excluded from the negotiations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In <a href=\"#Uganda\">Uganda<\/a>, the police have heightened crime surveillance in Kampala by creating a ring of security zones around the capital. More police stations will be created along the main roads.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The mayor of Bangui, capital of the <a href=\"#CAR\">Central African Republic<\/a>, declared this Tuesday that the disarmament of militant groups will become a top priority. Meanwhile, several ex-Seleka groupings announced a reunification in the near future.
