Meanwhile, a document leak has revealed that UN support to seven police and military commanders required suspension under UN policy following human rights screenings.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>FARDC has claimed that around 182 <a href=\"#FDLR\">FDLR<\/a> rebels have been neutralised, either killed or surrendered, in North and South Kivu. However, civil society groups in Tama and Itala (<a href=\"#NK\">North Kivu<\/a>) say they have been threatened by the FDLR. Elsewhere in the province, five military commanders and local civilians were killed in a shooting in Bunagana, Rutshuru, on 13 March. Meanwhile, in <a href=\"#PO\">Province Orientale<\/a>, FRPI rebels have been accused of raping eight women and seriously injuring two in Irumu, Ituri district, on 12 March, and killing local chief Walendu Bindi later in the week.<\/p>\n<p>The Congolese Prime Minister has said he is looking to redraw the boundaries of <a href=\"#V\">Virunga National Park<\/a> to allow oil exploration there. Virunga boasts the continent&rsquo;s most diverse wildlife habitat and is home to endangered mountain gorillas. SOCO international withdrew from the park last year, due to international outcry.<\/p>\n<p>In the Central African Republic, Monday saw the official <a href=\"#EU\">end of the EUFOR-RCA mandate<\/a>, occasioning the departure of the 700 soldiers making up the contingent. The European force was replaced this week by a European military advisory mission, EUMAM RCA, despatched to play an advisory role in the UN\u2019s intended reform and reconstruction of the Central African Armed Forces. Monday also saw at least 8 people were killed in gunfire in Boy Rabe district of Bangui.
