De la bauxite est extrait l\u2019aluminium, un m\u00e9tal indispensable dans l\u2019industrie de l\u2019armement, de la construction, de l\u2019a\u00e9ronautique et de la fabrication d\u2019\u00e9nergies renouvelables. Port\u00e9e par la demande mondiale, l\u2019exploitation de la bauxite en Guin\u00e9e s\u2019est fortement acc\u00e9l\u00e9r\u00e9e depuis 2015. N\u00e9anmoins, l\u2019impact environnemental de l\u2019industrie mini\u00e8re fragilise les communaut\u00e9s vivant dans et autour des zones d\u2019extraction, qui d\u00e9pendent principalement de la p\u00eache, de l\u2019agro-pastoralisme et de l\u2019\u00e9levage. La r\u00e9\u00e9mergence du M23 en 2021 et sa progression rapide ont conduit le gouvernement congolais \u00e0 faire appel \u00e0 des groupes arm\u00e9s non \u00e9tatiques \u2013 appel\u00e9s Wazalendo \u2013 pour lutter contre la r\u00e9bellion, aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s des Forces arm\u00e9es de la R\u00e9publique d\u00e9mocratique du Congo (FARDC). Compte tenu des difficiles tentatives d'int\u00e9gration des rebelles au sein de l'arm\u00e9e par le pass\u00e9, cette strat\u00e9gie pourrait compromettre les processus de paix actuels et futurs.
